August 16, 2020 – The trout fishing has been smoking just like the weather has been. The fished have moved to deeper water. The trout have been holding in 8-11 ft of water over shell humps. Glow/chart have been taking most of the fish. We are still catching some on live mullet/shad. I am looking for the trout bite to stay hot through the end of summer.

June 2020 – Speckle Trout Fishing on Sabine Lake has been steady over the past few weeks. Trout fishing has been good with fish being taken on live bait and topwater baits. Fish have been holding over shell and keying in on schools of mullet and shad. I look for Trout fishing to continue to improve throughout the summer and into the fall. Look for fish to keep moving towards the North end of Sabine Lake if we continue to get minimal rainfall throughout the summer.
I also anticipate the speckled trout to also show up at the short rigs in good numbers. There also should be some nice Cobia and Triple Tail being caught at the  short rigs as well. This is some of the most exciting fishing there is along the Texas Gulf Coast. It should be an exciting action packed summer.
