August 13, 2020 – The redfish bite has been steady with some nice reds being caught along side the trout. The fish are holding in 8-11 ft over shell. We are still catching some reds along the bank on live shad under a popping cork. With Fall right around the corner, look for redfishing to keep on getting better.

June 2020 – Redfish are being caught in Lake Sabine and along the ship channel. The majority of the redfish are being caught on live shrimp under a popping cork. There have been some fish being caught early in the morning along the banks on topwater. The best bait has been a Bone colored Skitterwalk. The redfishing should continue to improve through the summer and into the fall.
The red fishing in the marsh should steadily continue to get better with the peak being September/October. The fish will be feeding on shrimp and bait leaving the marsh for the migration to the Gulf of Mexico. Fishing under the birds will start picking up once we start getting cool fronts through the area.
